The Role

What do we need from you to complement the team?
Ideally, you have a Bachelor’s degree in Communications & Media (or similar) with a minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience and/or an impressive portfolio of previous work available for review. We’re looking for someone who brings a great deal of enthusiasm to this position and our mission since you will be front and center in witnessing the development of our technology and representing Ampyx outwardly in the formulation of communications content.

As (Social) Media Content Specialist you will:

  • Identify communications and media opportunities in anticipation of program milestones and technical progress, and translate this into a (social) media calendar;
  • Plan and prepare communications events and releases;
  • Capture or create written copy, design graphics, images, and videos as content for dissemination via press releases, social media, websites, and other distribution channels;
  • Build and manage Ampyx Power’s brand profile and presence, ensuring that messaging aligns with key business strategies;
  • Monitor online and offline campaigns, and report on results;
  • Prepare complementary communications documentation such as style and social media guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience and knowledge in executing effective media campaigns and developing content.
  • The ability to create appropriate content for dissemination via press releases, social media, websites, and other distribution channels.
  • Good creative sense for aesthetics and strong attention to detail.
  • The ability to explain complex concepts in a simple manner.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting to find objective alignment and achieve team goals.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written (English).

Knowledge and experienced with:

  • Graphic design tools (e.g. Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
  • Video editing software (e.g. Adobe Premiere),
  • Photography and videography equipment,
  • Managing major social media channels (e.g. Twitter, Instagram, etc.).

Ideally you:

  • Are a team player;
  • Are proactive and unafraid to take ownership;
  • Like to learn new skills;
  • Are comfortable adhering to processes and willing to help improve them;
  • Are precise and concise in communication;
  • Are comfortable writing about and describing complex subject matter;

Though certainly not a requirement, your application will be enhanced by knowledge and experience with:

  • Basic web development languages (e.g. HTML, CSS, etc.),
  • Developing media campaigns with the specific aim of attracting funding,
  • Managing web analytics and funneling,
  • Hardware technology start-ups,
  • Drone videography and photography.
