Digital Health Bioinformatician - drug discovery

At Oxcitas our mission is to unravel the biological mechanisms surrounding the remarkable anticancer abilities and extended lifespan of long-lived mole rats, including the blind subterranean mole rat or Spalax. By elucidating these mechanisms that evolution has created in Spalax, we are working to translate our findings into therapeutic interventions which tackle cancer and other diseases of ageing.

This role is a permanent full-time role based in Cambridge, UK.

Responsibilities:

• Analyse, curate, and automate the processing of our biochemical databases
• Collaborate with the broader team on the development of our modelling software
• Familiarity with large genomic datasets

Requirements:

• PhD in bioinformatics or similar discipline plus relevant industrial experience an advantage
• Experience with cloud computing environments (AWS/Azure/GCE)
• Ability to apply data mining to large omics datasets
• Experience of modern CI/CD tools
• Basic Python and/or other programming modern language skills
• Interest in AI applications and healthcare
