Senior / Lead Frontend Developer

Willow is looking for a Senior / Lead Frontend Developer to help us build the future of real estate investing. This position is great for a passionate developer who wants to work with cutting edge technologies, be part of a tight-knit team, and an exciting new product to life. We’re looking for a talented candidate who can hit the ground running.

Willow is a real estate investing platform that allows anyone to build a custom portfolio of rent-generating properties across Canada with as little as $100. We operate an online marketplace and exchange where people can buy, sell and own portions of individual properties without the hassle that comes with homeownership. Learn more at willow.ca.

Responsibilities
• Collaborating with project stakeholders and the dev team to design and build scalable, user-friendly systems for our customers, and in-house integrations.
• Implementing new features and continually improving all aspects of our UI
• Working with backend APIs
• Mentoring and coaching other developers
• Evangelizing proper frontend design and coding standards
• Developing an understanding of company goals and initiatives and help the engineering team deliver on them

Ideal qualifications
• 5+ years building rich, complex web or mobile applications
• 3+ years experience with React.js
• 2+ years experience with UI design
• Experience designing and building commercial websites that are optimized for both desktop and mobile devices
• Creativity and a flair for design
• Ability to move fast and ship often
• A passion for clean, reusable, and structured code
• A drive to find flaws in a system with many moving parts and take whatever steps are necessary to fix them
• Have built a product you’re proud to show off
• A computer science degree or equivalent experience
Bonus points
• Experience delivering regulatory-compliant websites (Accessibility, PII, etc.)
• Experience in designing secure systems
• Experience delivering a world-class user experience on the web
