Evolution IQ is a silicon valley funded technology enterprise firm founded by technology leaders from Google and Bloomberg. We're transforming big insurance carriers with an AI powered platform by helping them catch fraud, make instant decisions, and see the future.

We develop machines with deep comprehension and vast data access to guide humans to the optimal decisions over large numbers of claims. Our training data includes all parts of historical insurance claims, as well as data we source externally such as medical, weather, geographic, demographic and court data. Our findings are presented in intuitive products to streamline the claim investigation process. The result is potential savings in the hundreds of millions, increased fairness and added precision to insurance pricing.

Our Team
We are founded by a senior Google AI expert and a Bridgewater Associates Algorithmic Investor & Stanford MBA. We’re not looking for employees. We’re looking for partners in work, partners in culture-building, and partners in the future of data-driven insurance. The development team consists of world class engineers and leaders from companies like Google and Bloomberg. Each individual has had great success building large scale enterprise software and is now excited to try their hand at transforming the insurance industry.

Our investors include First Round Capital (seed investors in Uber, Square, Looker), FirstMark (Airbnb, Pinterest, Shopify) and Foundation Capital (Lending Club, CoverWallet, Netflix) and we have deep support within each of their organizations. You will also have full access to their networks and counterparts at portfolio companies for advice, ideas and community.

Your Role
Design and build the foundation for serving EvolutionIQ’s products. Be the technical owner of EvolutionIQ’s performant, robust, and secure platform.

Outcomes
• Architect and implement serving platform that supports multiple products for multiple tenants
• Setup and maintain a robust deployment pipeline, achieving 100% uptime and 0 customer facing issues
• Support many products on the same codebase through cohesion, encapsulation, and modular code
• Stand up test tooling and environments
• Design database schemas that follow functional data engineering practices and allow the products to grow without major refactoring needs
• Become the team expert on authentication and Customer Identity
• Collaborate with Data Eng on pipelining application data or DevOps
• Maintain info security standards by following ISO27001 or equivalent practices

Role Competencies
• Accomplished Technical Lead with track record of uploading a high standard of readable, reliable, efficient, and tested code
• Designed, implemented, and maintained secure production serving stack in AWS or GCP environments
• Passionate about developer productivity
• Experience setting up and maintaining a push-on-green CI/CD pipeline
• Intimately familiar with Kubernetes
• Knowledgeable about identity and web authentication patterns
• Database design for large scale data
• Excellent technical design document writing skills
• Python 3 expert
