This is an ideal position for an experienced software engineer that is interested in creating greenfield projects and align with our mission to help improve innovation by giving startups a better chance at success.

OmniSync is a venture capital-backed San Diego-based tech startup. Our product is the reason why many new ideas for products and technologies see the light of day. We like to say that we are the reason why the society will have 2 Tesla's or Google’s instead of 1. Our software product is a first-of-its kind tool that helps startups apply for government grant funding to support the early stages of their product development. The platform also serves as a hub for startups to get access to resources for running day-to-day operations within their companies.

Since we are a rapidly growing startup company, we are looking for someone with an interest in entrepreneurship and passion to help startups succeed. Some of the qualities we are looking for in a candidate include the ability to clearly communicate with a team, balance job obligations with other commitments (like family, ongoing professional development activities, etc.), self-initiate and take responsibility of tasks, and have pride in the quality of work produced. The candidate will also be able to clearly explain our product’s value propositions to potential customers, stakeholders, partners etc. Opportunities to grow into other areas of the company are very possible and encouraged.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience working in software development with one or more of the following programming languages; Python, JavaScript
• Experience in working with back end technologies and/or backend end frameworks: NodeJS, Google Firebase, PostgreSQL
• Experience in working with front end technologies and/or front end frameworks: React, GraphQL, NextJS.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with user-interface design.
• Background in computer science, with a focus on data structures, algorithms, and API design.
• Demonstrated ability to share knowledge via formal mentoring, reviewing code, reviewing design documents, providing technical talks, teaching classes, or as a consultant on projects.
• Experience working with and managing external partners/customers.
• Experience with standard IT security practices such as identity and access management, data protection, encryption, certificate and key management.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and launch user-facing experiences.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software.
• Write server-side and client-side code for web-based applications, create fast, easy-to-use, high volume production applications, and develop prototypes.
• Design Cloud-based technical architectures, migration approaches, and application optimizations that enable business objectives.
• Design and implement new user-facing features in OmniSync products.
• Work closely with UX and PM to define, prototype, and test experiences with real users to discover what experiences users value the most and how to improve the experiences to provide more value to users.
• Plan and prioritize feature development with Engineers, Program & Product Managers, and User Experience.
• Lead development best practices and establish a healthy code base.
• Optimize web applications to maximize speed and scale.
