The Role

We are hiring a Systems Engineer (SE) with the ability to provide technical and operational skills in support of software and sensor integration efforts the client programs. The SE will work as part of a small team with other SE’s, software engineers and the Project Manager with a primary focus on system integration (software/hardware), requirements analysis, site operations and customer training requirements. The SE will directly support the integration and performance of the fielded equipment, re-installation of Line repairable units (LRUs), training, integration, requirements, and sustainment of these solutions with existing client infrastructure.

The Systems Engineer will provide hands on support for software, technical, network and integration projects. This position requires a high degree of technical skill, personal resilience and flexibility, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work as part of a cross-functional team in a variety of physical environments.

Must be able to:
• Able to translate broad requirements into development and engineering tasks
• Work directly with local subject matter experts and users in the field to understand their environment and challenges to define CONOPS and system requirements for new solutions
• Develop integration/development requirements
• Support daily stand ups with development team on integration efforts.

• Make recommendations to the PM for equipment modifications / upgrades based on experience gained through development, testing and operational use of deployed systems.

• Work with the Support Teams to develop and conduct training on the proper care, use, maintenance and preventive maintenance of fielded systems.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Travel to customer/vendor locations to assess unit equipment needs and provide unique systems configurations/solutions to match the fielding requirements and ensure constant system operations during assignment.
• Work with the internal development team for requirements and integration
• Interface directly with Government customers as a technical Subject Matter Expert (SME)
• Perform system checks of each system installation prior to issue.
• Conduct technical analysis for system implementations, modifications, and potential enhancements.
• Perform de-installations, installations, and handoffs for specified systems.
• Troubleshoot system problems and/or integration issues, determine system solution in accordance with customer needs, and recommend actions to customer for system solutions.
• Perform engineering assessments of new equipment and software upgrades for integration into required systems as directed by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and customer program team.
• Develop and improve operations processes/practices for each location based on best practices across the program and through peer and management collaboration.

Experience and Skills:
• At least eight (8) years of experience as a Systems Engineer
• Experienced problem solver and able to work in the abstract
• Experience with test documentation, planning and implementation
• Advanced computer skills using Office 365 (MS, Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)
• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple simultaneous assignments
• Experience working within an agile-based development and team structure
