Through socially responsible communications consulting, The Narrative Project works to help emerging and established mission-driven organizations reach their diverse publics, build their image, further their mission, and achieve their goals.

Job Description

As the Social Media & Content Creation Associate, you will be responsible for developing and producing social and digital-first creative content for The Narrative Project and the organizations we serve. Your primary responsibility will be to support our account managers in the production of dynamic content for a variety of platforms; This includes graphic design, videos, written content, email marketing, animation, and digital ads to impact public opinion and move people to stand against injustice. The team will lean on your expertise to translate objectives and goals into designs that capture their mission-driven brands in style, tone and texture. You will harness your communication skills to support meetings with the organizations we serve. You will also support the creation of monthly social media content calendars, and manage several social media channels on a daily basis. You will need to be flexible and adapt to the ever changing social media and design needs of the organizations we serve.

In order to succeed, you need to have exceptional communication skills, obsessive attention to detail, and the desire and capacity to learn.

Communications Responsibilities:

Reports to: Senior Account Manager
Social Media, graphic design, videography
Create content for social media channels, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and other relevant platforms
Support account managers by developing social strategy and content that is relevant, engaging, and reflective of the visionary social justice platforms of the organizations we serve
Storyboard and develop video concepts from inception through completion
Create on-brand graphic design, written, video and photo content for a variety of mission-oriented organizations
Developing content strategies to effectively reach the desired target audience and marketing goals.
Monitor and optimize content following search engine optimization (SEO)
Create content that promotes audience engagement, increases audience presence on company sites, and encourages audience participation
Analyze communications metrics and report audience information and demographics
Generate, edit, publish and share daily content that is engaging, informative and dedicated to breaking down and rewriting harmful narratives
Monitor feedback received on social media, prepare written responses on behalf of clients
Write bimonthly Op-Eds to share your unique voice and perspective with audiences of The Narrative Project
Keeping up to date with content trends, consumer preferences, and advancements in technology.
Other responsibilities as they arise.

Qualifications:
Relevant education in graphic design, videography, digital media, social media, communications, interactive digital design, or public relations, and 3-5 years of work experience in a related field, or some combination of the aforementioned
Proficiency and experience the full Adobe Creative Cloud including Photoshop, InDesign, Audition, Illustrator, Premier, etc.
Knowledge of Vimeo, Youtube, Facebook video and other uploading and sharing platforms
Spanish Fluency a plus
Proficient with a variety of social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn
Dedication to dismantling harmful narratives surrounding race, ethnicity, privilege and power
Strong work ethic and passion for economic, racial and social justice
Enthusiasm for mastering the latest digital technologies and social media trends
Strong visual aesthetics that send powerful messages
Impeccable time management skills
Ability to thrive within a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Ability to manage multiple projects in various stages of production
Excellent storytelling, presentation and communication skills
Detail-oriented
Team-first mentality, with an ability to thrive in a collaborative think tank environment
Growth mindset with an ability to receive and learn from critical feedback
