Norman Y. Mineta San José International Airport (SJC) is recruiting for an Assistant Digital Marketing Manager (Senior Public Information Representative) dedicated to enhancing the customer experience on the Airport’s digital marketing platforms to meet the expectations of Silicon Valley travelers. A great digital customer experience is core to the Airport’s brand as “Silicon Valley’s Airport”. SJC’s digital marketing platforms include the FlySJC.com website, digital wayfinding screens, digital advertising programs (including landing pages), Search Engine Optimization tools, APIs that feed information (e.g. parking, lounge reservations, flight scheduling, trip planning, sponsorship related activities, etc.) from/to third party sites that passengers rely on, etc. This person will define the capabilities and features that make up the digital experiences, collaborate with designers, technology developers and project managers to launch them, and measure, report and iterate on the results of the capabilities and features.

Desired Skills/Experience

The ideal candidate will have skillsets that span web and mobile product management, digital marketing, and project management.

Highly desirable to have hands-on experience in authoring product requirement documents (PRDs), Marketing Requirement documents (MRDs), writing user stories for developers, putting together wireframes, comfortable working with agile / SCRUM methodologies and working backwards from the customer needs.

Highly desirable to have prior experience defining mobile first experiences

Highly desirable to have experience working with designers and developers to successfully launch consumer facing experiences on high-traffic consumer facing websites and mobile web

Be technically curious and savvy (don’t need to be able to write code) to earn the trust of designers and technical developers

Experience directing and supervising the work of project teams and influencing without authority

Nice to have prior experience implementing Search Engine Optimization (SEO) using third-party tools (e.g Moz, SEMRush, BrightEdge etc.) to improve website ranking on Google search.

Entrepreneurial, organized, love tinkering with digital tools and technologies, and can easily shift from focusing on the big picture to obsessing over execution details.

Proficiency with Content Management Systems (e.g. Drupal) and Google Analytics.

Experience in the travel/tourism industry is a plus, but not required.

This position is part of the Marketing & Communications Division and will report to the Marketing Manager. The ideal candidate should have a proactive, creative, energetic, customer-centered attitude, and be capable of multi-tasking and executing consistently across a broad set of assignments. This position also requires proven ability to think strategically and creatively, as well as the ability to prioritize projects in a rapidly changing environment.
