Senior Java Backend Engineer

What are the responsibilities?
• Work with a global team to coordinate software requirements, design, development, integration, validation and deployment of software components and services
• Integrate various back-end services and databases
• Create and maintain software documentation
• Be responsible for maintaining, expanding, and scaling software components
• Actively participate in product design and code reviews for all product components
• Work in an Agile/Scrum environment
• Identify technical dependencies & risks early in all stages of the development lifecycle
• Be a team player with strong motivation and teamwork. Personal accountability is huge
• Write well designed and efficient code using software development best practices

What you bring in:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or Computer Sciences Engineering (advanced degree preferred).
• 5+ years of proven experience as a Java developer
• Top-notch programming skills and in-depth knowledge of Java 8, Spring /Spring boot, Java Persistence API (JPA)
• Experienced in Java/J2EE, Spring Framework, Maven/Gradle, Jenkins, Design Patterns, RESTful Services & APIs
• Good knowledge in Multithreading and Concurrency, must know the internals of the JVM intimately.
• Knowledge of Elasticsearch, NodeJS, RabbitMQ/Kafka, Microservices architecture, API Gateways and Docker is a plus.
• Excellent understanding of design patterns and service oriented architectural principles
• Expertise in MongoDB and NoSQL databases
• Creative troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Must be detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with the ability to appropriately prioritize
• Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master diverse web technologies and techniques.
• Take ownership and make things happen with release schedules and milestones.
