**MISSION INTEGRATION ENGINEER, DRAGON CARGO AND LUNAR MISSIONS**

The Dragon and Lunar Mission Management team is looking for an exemplary individual capable of supporting our multi-mission per year Cargo Dragon program, development and integration of the new Cargo Dragon 2 spacecraft, and early planning and development for future Lunar missions to cislunar orbit and the lunar surface, utilizing the Starship vehicle. This close-knit team serves as the main interface between NASA and SpaceX and is responsible for certifying the vehicles to fly to the International Space Station and beyond. Mission Integration engineers also lead the planning and integration of all cargo into the vehicle; assessing, negotiating, and documenting payload requirements and accommodations, planning and supporting payload integration and check out operations on the ground and in orbit. Members of the team excel across a breadth of functions including systems engineering, requirements verification, project management, proposal development, and mission management. Team members also have opportunities to support other SpaceX programs, including Crew Dragon. SpaceX is shaping a new era in space travel, and we need a meticulous and persuasive self-starter to jump in and help pave the way!

**RESPONSIBILITIES:**

- Work with internal and external stakeholders to certify each Dragon vehicle to fly to and from the International Space Station (ensure compliance and verification of all NASA requirements)
- Collaborate with engineering and production groups to understand and drive vehicle readiness and how changes impact requirements, vehicle risk, and launch dates
- Coordinate and chair customer reviews and ensure that contract deliverables are delivered on time and per the customer’s expectation
- Lead payload integration for ISS and Lunar payloads, and work with internal and external stakeholders to develop hardware, software, and processes required to fly unique NASA cargo and powered payloads.
- Assess payload and vehicle structural and electrical design and analysis; negotiate payload requirements and accommodations and vehicle capability upgrades; and write both technical interface control documents and contractual documentation
- Lead proposals for small- and large-scale unique cargo services, accommodations, and vehicle upgrades
- Support large-scale requests for cargo delivery missions to the Lunar surface with Starship
- Influence and steer programmatic and technical development of Dragon and Starship product lines to meet the end objectives of current and future customer contracts and missions
- Present technical content on complex designs, trade studies, risks, and issues to a programmatic and/or executive audience.

**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:**

- Bachelor's degree in engineering with a minimum of 2 years of industry experience
- 2+ years of technical project management experience
- 2+ years of systems engineering/requirements verification experience

**PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: **

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with direct experience negotiating technical deliverables or scope
- Diplomacy and experience working with cross-functional teams and external customers
- 4+ years of experience in the aerospace industry working with government, NASA, or commercial launch entities
- 2+ years of experience working hands-on with hardware or software technical projects
- 2+ years of experience with requirement development, verification, and hardware certification
- Highly detail oriented, diligent, and hardworking, with excellent engineering judgement
- Passion for advancing the commercial space industry
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, autonomously driven, and demanding start-up atmosphere

**ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: **

- Must be available to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed to support critical milestones or operations shifts
- Must be willing to travel to launch sites, test sites, other SpaceX offices, and customer locations as needed
