We’re a small core team of 16 with expertise across everything from investment, brand building and talent to fund administration, finance/accounting and legals. We're now looking for an exceptional person to join us to help build out our Finance team as we continue to add new funds to our structure, continue to grow our extensive investor base and invest in the best early-stage startups across Europe.

About the role

This is a unique opportunity to take our fund administration, accounting and tax management to the next level as we add new and more ambitious funds to our structure; expand our investor base with new LPs from across the globe; face new regulatory requirements as our AuM goes from strength to strength with Seedcamp Investment Management LLP now a Full Scope AIFM; and our portfolio of 450+ companies continues to mature with more than 50 exits and counting.

We’re looking for someone independent, friendly and super detail orientated with great communication skills to expand the Finance Team. You should be ready and able to champion new projects, systemise our processes and make a real impact on how we run Seedcamp as we scale. You will be deeply exposed to the way we think, work, invest and provide value to our portfolio companies and investors. This is an opportunity to supercharge your network, learn and be involved in funding the best start-ups in Europe, and hone your skills as an accountant.

Accounting and Tax

• Lead on reporting and budgeting/forecasting as well as expense management, processing payments, payroll and pension, ledger preparation and accounting (working with Xero) for the management company and related entities.
• Liaise with our external compliance consultant, depository and accountants to ensure that we’re meeting all our regulatory filing obligations, and manage our capital requirement monitoring and reporting.
• Support our external tax advisors with increasing management company, fund and investor tax requirements including UK tax and VAT returns, PSA, FATCA/CRS filings and US K-1 tax returns.

Fund Admin and Reporting

• Manage our fund administrator to ensure our investor reporting is delivered on time and to provide value to our investors and other key stakeholders. This includes calculation, review and reconciliation of financial statements, portfolio valuations, capital accounts, multiples/IRRs, drawdowns and distributions.
• Oversee audit process and work closely with our third party accountants to prepare and review the accounts and confirmation statements of all entities to ensure we meet our ongoing investor and regulatory obligations and deadlines.
• Pro-actively streamline and update our internal processes and control mechanisms.

About you

Whilst we're expecting to speak with a wide range of diverse candidates, we'll ultimately be looking for someone who can demonstrate they have a mix of the following traits and experience:

• You have a UK accounting qualification (ACCA/CIMA, ACA or equivalent) and have worked in management accounting (fund accounting would be a bonus!)
• Have an incredible attention to detail. You love cross checking and reviewing calculations, can’t rest until numbers match up, and have an eye for where processes can be refined
• You’re highly analytical, don’t mind getting your hands dirty and tech-savvy. You enjoy trying out new software to improve accounting processes and team efficiency
• Are a proactive (data-driven) problem solver who can think independently and take initiative
• Enjoy working with people and love building relationships
