Software Engineer II

OpenX is looking for talented and highly motivated back-end engineers to help us innovate and improve our products. You will work in all aspects of agile application development, including our exchange platform that interfaces with a multitude of services that are depended on to deliver billions of requests per day. Your opinions will be important in all phases of product development, starting from requirements to validation and deployment.

Working on the exchange platform, you will be working with multiple distributed teams to architect, create, and deliver new features and functionality in order to deliver the best possible advertising experience in the market. Scalability, performance, and rock-solid reliability are all factors to consider with every line you code.

So who are we looking for? In addition to the right attitude, we’re looking for a rock solid Computer Science foundation. We are seeking to hire someone with 3-5 years of experience along with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree. As a back-end engineer, you’ll own components, processes, and workflows that demand professionalism, excellent communication, teamwork, and documentation skills.

Additionally, we are seeking someone with extensive disciplined skills in an object-oriented language like Java, Python, or Golang. You must fluently speak algorithms and data structures, have great knowledge of design patterns and software architecture, and be able to whiteboard elegant code at will. You should be comfortable using the right tools and languages for the job, even brand new ones. Plus, you have the ability to develop scalable, modular applications. You must have a deep understanding of web technologies and applications, and be right at home with working on *nix platforms.

**Key Responsibilities**

- Leadership and ownership through a full development cycle from product inception, research, definition, prototyping to product development and release in production
- Help architect and build scalable, low latency, always-on platforms that can handle billions of transactions per day
- Influence and drive software development best practices for the team
- Collaborate with cross functional teams within Engineering, Business, and Product
- Assist in production support needs
- Assist and be responsive to Sales and Support Engineering in dealing with and anticipating customer issues
- Experience with GCP and cloud related technologies like Kubernetes is a big plus

- BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
