Onfido is the new identity standard for the internet. Our AI-based technology assesses whether a user’s government-issued ID is genuine or fraudulent, and then compares it against their facial biometrics. That’s how we give companies like Revolut, Barclays, Babylon Health and BlaBlaCar the assurance they need to onboard customers remotely and securely.
The Technology Team
We are over 100 technologists at Onfido. We range from machine learning scientists and product designers to mobile, back-end, front-end and test engineers. The challenges are varied and it's easy to stay hungry as opportunities are plenty. Tech teams are cross functional which gives them a great degree of autonomy. As a lead, there are opportunities in the following teams:
SDK Team
This team ships the Onfido SDKs that the aim to deliver an easy to integrate, customizable and accessible user flow. One focus of the team is on helping the end user take the best quality photos/videos of themselves and their documents. This is so that when we do verify them, the verification does not fail for quality reasons. Another focus is on integrator experience, this demands high quality api/code design and high interoperability with customer web apps.
We also develop security mechanisms that ensure both the safety of user data, but also the integrity of that data. This is to ensure that fraudsters are not able to fool us about the source of the data.
Customer Acquisition & Experience
This team focuses on delivering great experiences to our customers. They work on three stages of the customer experience: the first contact customers have with Onfido, trialling and onboarding, and finally managing customers’ live integrations, which includes the Onfido API and its tools. Front end wise they develop our customer dashboard, React Native demo apps, documentation, website and design system!

Engineering leadership at Onfido is twofold:
In partnership with a product manager, you’ll be responsible for guiding your team to deliver on their mission and figuring out how to make that real - with the best balance of pace, rigour and customer value
You’ll be responsible for guiding the growth, wellbeing and performance of a small team of engineers
We believe that combining team leadership and people management allows our engineering leaders to have a tremendous impact, both on individual growth and Onfido’s long-term success.

Solid background in software development; ideally, past experience in a technical leadership role
Experience managing the performance and career development of engineers
