Fixstars is a software tech company based in Irvine, CA. We are now expanding and seeking a bilingual software engineering manager.
Summary/Objective
This position envisions software service projects through completion; analyzes, designs and develops software; manages the projects from requirement gathering and analysis through delivery and maintenance while providing strategic management direction.
Essential Functions
Exercises independent judgement and discretion in overall project management by prioritizing, planning and tracking project progress.
Identify customer needs and requirements and include into project objectives.
Designs, develops and tests programs
Manages, motivates and evaluates software engineers in a project. Sets goals for
individual staff members, recruits, and train members.Creates related documents
Other duties may be required and assigned
Supervisory Responsibility
This position manages all the employees involved in the assigned projects and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday
through Friday, 40 hours a week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be required.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelors in Engineering/Computer Science or related discipline
- Basic knowledge about at least one programming language
- Basic knowledge about computer architecture
- Excellent in verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent leadership and a great team player
- Excellent in project management, risk management, problem-solving, prioritization and resource planning
- Japanese/English technical writing/reading skill and business coversation skill
- At least 5-year software engineering experience or;
- A combination of education and experience equivalent to above

- Software development processes
