We are a growing start-up enabling global scale restoration of the natural world using UAV-based automation.
Responsibilities:
We are looking for a Prototype Mechatronics Engineer with a broad skillset to develop UAV mounted payload systems for ecosystem restoration. This will require an involvement in the lifecycle of the new payloads from design to final production including rapid prototyping, assembly and testing. A strong understanding of mechanical systems, a disposition to think outside the box and a passion for building things from scratch will go a long way towards carving out a significant role within the engineering team.
Principal Duties:
• Design, prototype and validate new payload systems
• Help maintaining and updating current payloads
• Work with the UAV team to integrate the payloads to the vehicles
Minimum skills and experience:
• Strong and varied experience in rapid prototyping
• Strong Computer Aided Design experience
• 3D printing and CNC machining experience
• Good hands-on approach to manufacture, assembly and test of the parts themselves
• Good experience in complex assemblies of mechatronics systems
• Understanding of material strengths and stress testing
Preferred skills and experience
• Electronics design experience
• Embedded programming experience in C/C++
• Knowledge of UAV dynamics and controls
