Software Engineer / Data Science

We have a vision: to build a comprehensive, immediate, personalized and affordable pet health service and make it available to every pet parent on earth.


Everyone in our team is considered to be a full-stack engineer. You may have more experience in, or have a primary focus on backend or frontend, but you are interested in developing your skills for both.

* Development of an open platform that enables the efficient generation of all the veterinarian and model data that is used to drive the customer-facing services, by our AIVet, epidemiologists and data scientists.
* Development of existing and new interfaces for our AIVet to make it more easy to use for our pet parents (barkibu.com, Alexa voice, Facebook, Whatsapp, Mobile App, etc)
* Improve our Big Data infrastructure with laser-focused ‘automation’ mindset. (AWS)
* Development of new tools/apps that allows us to gather more data from pets.
* Development of existing and new AI algorithms that support our partners in pet retail (R, Python, TensorFlow, etc)
* Improving our company culture to help Barkibu grow in the right way. It means that we prioritize happiness.
* Mentor other engineers and help develop their skills while assisting them on projects.
* Contribute to team sessions (agile ceremonies, knowledge sharing sessions)

* You can work in English (written and spoken) You don’t need to speak perfectly, you just need to be able to communicate fluently. We don’t care if you have an accent like Fernando Alonso, most of us have it. But we work with people that only speak English so be ready to speak it every day.
