Zagster is the fastest-growing and most innovative company in the bike sharing industry, with a mission to make the bike the most loved form of transportation, and we’re looking for an exceptional Director of Sales to help make it happen. Bike sharing is a $1B+ market segment of the shared economy, that is moving beyond the early adopters and becoming mainstream, and Zagster is capitalizing on the opportunity.
The Director of Sales, East at Zagster is a key leadership role with overall revenue responsibility for half of the country. You will be expected to serve as a player-coach, providing contribution to the top line, while mentoring and motivating local salespeople and a supporting team.
You should have a strong track record of sales performance and career growth. You should be the type to challenge yourself, your clients, your company, and your industry to be better every day.
Entrepreneurial ownership of a major sales territory for a fast-growing startup, including mentorship and motivation of a local and virtual team.
Ongoing achievement of bookings and pipeline growth targets.
Cross-functional teamwork to ensure that all customer commitments can be met.
Offer a high level of service to represent us in the market, and be the “eyes and ears” to the executive team.
5-10 years of proven solution sales experience with a demonstrated ability to manage a pipeline, close deals, and exceed revenue goals.
Active listening skills and a genuine curiosity to uncover customer needs, evaluation processes, and solution potential.
Effective presenting, communicating, and selling effectively to senior level executives, on the phone and in person.
Confidence and experience managing contract/legal processes.
Experience with selling to state and local governments
Outstanding communication, organization, prioritization, and time management skills.
A passion for learning and an appreciation for how much there is to learn about sales.
Founded in 2007 and headquartered in Cambridge, Mass., Zagster is the nation's largest and fastest-growing bike-share provider. Zagster partners with more than 130 communities — including cities, universities, businesses, and properties — to bring bike sharing to areas where traditional bike-share providers can't reach. The company’s goal: To make the bike the most loved form of transportation.
Unlike other bike shares in which riders must drop off bikes at designated stations for every stop, Zagster’s programs let users ride as long as they want, wherever they want. And because Zagster manages all aspects of its systems — from hardware and software, to maintenance and marketing — Zagster partners can implement safe, scalable, and cost-effective bike shares that best suit their needs.
Zagster also offers a unique private-public model of collaborative sponsorship to offset costs to taxpayers and allow anyone in a community to have a direct stake in bike sharing's success.
