Job Description

With more than 30 million users, Vivino is the world’s most downloaded wine app and largest community of wine drinkers. We are passionate about building technology that allows our massive community of wine drinkers - at all levels of expertise - to always find the best wine. We are growing the team and adding an Account Executive to our Hong Kong team as we evolve from a ratings and review service to a full marketplace for wine.

About this position:

We are looking for an Account Executive to join our small and mighty team to grow Vivino Checkout, an in-app and on-site checkout experience that is our fastest growing revenue stream.

Vivino Checkout leverages partnerships with qualified wine merchants of all styles and sizes who make wines of the world available to thirsty Vivino users.
We make a moderate volume (30-40) of outbound phone calls each day. We manage our own entire sales cycle from prospecting, vetting, appointment-setting, qualifying, all the way through to closing and celebrating.

Account Executives are the face and voice of Vivino to potential partners and as such must be knowledgeable, fun, capable, professional and confident.

Here's the profile for success in this role:

You fluently speak (and can conduct real business in!) Cantonese as well as English.

You possess a strong work ethic. When faced with a problem, you think of several solutions, and then test them one by one to meet the desired outcome. You think strategically about how to spend your time to yield the best results. If you are tireless when a goal isn’t met, and you make up for a lack of skill or experience with sheer output until you reach mastery, you can be successful with us.

You are extremely coachable. If you can implement guidance and coaching immediately without second-guessing yourself, if you’re fine operating out of your comfort zone and can trust people who have done it before, you can be successful with us.

You are endlessly positive. If you are a person that *chooses* to have great days even (especially!) when things don’t go your way, if you are fundamentally positively-charged and setbacks and unpleasant surprises just roll off your back, you can be successful with us.

You have a track record of success. If you are the person that takes on and sticks with hobbies you initially fail at because you know you’ll improve, if you are a life-long learner that figures things out with the right guidance, if you’ve been promoted multiple times because you simply figure stuff out, you can be successful with us.

A few other nice-to-haves:

You have 1-3 years of sales experience, ideally where a lot of the process takes place over the phone.

You are interested in start-ups or have start-up experience.

You are passionate about all things wine. You don’t need to be an expert, but you should be prepared to learn quickly and manage your own education.
