Tripthirsty.com helps you find adventure trips and packages around you, reviewed and rated by other users. Currently, there is no one website you can find *every* trip and package available in India, in an unbiased, user-reviewed directory.
There are a number of adventure trip organizers in India, most of them without even a website. We give them a platform to showcase their inventory to relevant users and allow them to focus on delivering a great experience.
We've built on the proven Python framework, Django, using a mostly modular architecture. We're hosted on Softlayer's servers, with all static file serving offloaded to Amazon S3. Overall, we've optimized for the skillsets commonly available among proficient technologists in Bangalore (by avoiding very recent/trendy technology).
The first 3 founders went to the same school, IIIT-B, although not in the same batch. Kingsley was initially sharing an office space with the team, then became an investor & then a founder. We decided to work together primarily because of chemistry and shared values.

1. One of our users has a world map on his bedroom wall. Him and his gf pin the places they want to visit.
2. Sundar found a $200 return ticket to Singapore. He did this by being the last family on a package tour that could not have left without those last 3.
Our insight is that travel is opportunistic based on 3 factors: friends, price & time. We are trying to build the Groupon of travel, by combining the wishlisting experience from Pinterest/Fancy with the social group deals of Groupon.
* Created the voting-on-ideas social media product category while at salesforce.com - it's currently used by Dell, Starbucks etc, and a whole bunch of startups have replicated similar functionality.
* Built Digital Chocolate a social game studio in Bangalore in a record 3 months, and shipped the first game in another 3.
