My focus has been on our Directed Evolution platform top-to-bottom: what plan do we execute, how do we execute it, when are reasonable milestones expected, who do we need...more to execute it, where are there qualified third parties that can help us, and why we should do it this way. I've also been doing half of the labwork as part of a small group of scientists.
• Directed both the day-to-day and the vision of Molecular Biology Operations at Intrexon's Industrial Products Division.
• DNA Construction software product owner...more for a team of 2 software engineers (and growing) and 5 lab personnel. Wrote and approved user requirements, developed detailed user stories and and interface workflows, manually validated software generated outputs, championed enterprise-compatible software solutions and made the difficult choices to keep the software on track.
One of the first team members of Automated Strain Engineering. Conceptualized, operationalized and validated new DNA fabrication systems synthesizing wet lab automation, molecular...more biology, and software. Moonlighted as a metabolic engineer and biochemist on Amyris's program to recode central metabolism to improve the theoretical maximum yield of any chemical using yeast as a living catalyst.
Industrial Biotech: Primary tech dev lead that de-risked Amyris's foundational Automated Strain Engineering (ASE) platform technology.
Software/Biotech: Pivotal figure building from the ground-up Intrexon's primary software and molecular biology platforms for the Industrial Products Division.
Biotherapeutics: Re-factored, de-risked, generated buy-in for, and co-implemented central scientific plans at IGNITE Immunotherapy.
