Tealet is an online farmers market for tea. Independent tea growers are connected directly to their retail and wholesale buyers. Tealet serves as a transparent supply chain platform that provides optimized online marketing, international logistics, and low costs payments via cryptocurrency.
Tealet's most valuable tech is a multi-functional supply chain platform for tea growers to tell their stories, connect with buyers via live video chat, and sell their exclusive teas to top buyers around the world. Tealet retails specialty tea direct from grower in a virtual marketplace and bimonthly curated tea subscription called Global Tea Taster on a customized e-commerce website. The marketplace is a place of storytelling and relationship-building and is integrated with a variety of social tools. Tealet's network makes it possible to gain access to the most unique tea in the world.
Founder, Elyse Petersen learned about the infinite opportunity for a Hawaii Grown Tea Industry while co-authoring a market feasibility study.
She pitched the idea at Startup Weekend Honolulu on April 28, 2012. Petersen and Startup Weekend team members impressed the judges so much that they took home 2nd place. Since this event Jane and Elyse built a marketplace, launched a subscription service, and are in the 500 Startups accelerator program.
I am a Global Tea Ambassador and food science experience in the tea industry. I am also deeply connected with Hawaii's agriculture sector and work directly with the government to implement diversified agriculture with great opportunity.
