Startmate is Australia’s best startup accelerator.
We help teams build enduring companies and avoid the activities and theatre that take away from that mission.
Hundreds of startups from across Australia apply to be a part of Startmate each batch. Of these, we select only the very best.
Startmate cohorts run in
- Sydney from January-April
- Melbourne from July-October
Program Duration: January until April
Startmate has been running since 2011, and was founded by Niki Scevak who went on to co-found Blackbird Ventures.
Startmate's most successful alumni include Upguard, Bugcrowd, Propeller, Flirtey, HappyCo, Edrolo, Workyard, Vero and Elevio.
This year, we’re expanding the 12-week Startmate accelerator program with up to 10 additional spots for climate-focused founders. We’re also bringing in experts in the field and climate-focused investors to make sure these teams have the funding, connections and support to accelerate the adoption of their technology.
We give Startmate companies $75k and we match their latest valuation (as of 3 Dec 2019) if they don't have one yet we invest for 7.5% ownership in their company.
Startmate provides intensive mentoring for 3 months and then a network for life. We give our founders resources, advice, connections, and perks, but it’s the relationships that have the deepest and most profound impact.
Our mentor network is Australia’s best and includes Mike Cannon-Brookes & Scott Farquhar, Susan Wu, Niki Scevak, Warren Hogarth, Sam Chandler, Jodie Auster, Rachael Neumann, and many more awesome people including many of the best Startmate alumni.
