DC-based non-profit seeks local, Full-Time Community Manager for its global expert network of entrepreneurs, advisors, and investors.
About us: For eighteen years, venture catalyst Springboard Enterprises has helped more than 718 women-led companies raise over $8.3 Billion in capital, a global network that includes the founders of Zipcar, Constant Contact, iRobot and Minute Clinic and thousands of influencers, investors and innovators. http://sb.co
What we seek: A mid-level (3-8 years experience) self-starter with a sense of curiosity, keen attention to detail, the ability to communicate professionally both externally and internally, and the ability to execute. A capacity for external engagement and representing the organization at startup community events is a must. This position is not for those who shy away from a challenge or who need a lot of structure; it demands someone who is ready from day one to take initiative, dive in, learn the ropes and take on significant responsibility. Salary range of $50-60,000 (comparable to other small non-profits and will match level of experience). Candidates must be based in Washington, DC.
Your future role: While we run programs, Springboard is a network and our community is the core asset of our organization. You are a super connector who will establish and maintain relationships with entrepreneurs in our ecosystem and lead the charge in engaging them online, through in person events, and promoting them as thought leaders. You will support the goals and vision of engaging the Springboard Community and ecosystem through creative messaging, visual communication, improving our internal and external communication strategies, and driving engagement through our online community platform and international Dolphin Tank program series. Candidates with growth hacking or political campaign mobilization experience encouraged to apply.
How we operate: We are a small team of under 10 highly capable individuals who collectively deliver the results of a team 10 times our size. All team members will work closely with one another.
How to apply: Do not apply without a cover note that references why you are interested in Springboard. We are interested in candidates who are thoughtful about their application and can articulate why our organization and this role is a fit with your professional goals.
Here are some of the things you would have worked on had you been with us last few months:
Online Community: Drive connections and engagement from our alumnae to leverage our online community to post questions and share resources. Understand what opportunities and resources are of value to our community and craft announcements to targeted groups of alumnae using our online community platform and email marketing system. Serve as primary point of contact for a subgroup of Springboard Alumnae to check for their updates and news.
Dolphin Tank Pitch Events: Manage Dolphin Tank pitch sessions including securing presenters and speakers, managing relationships with sponsors and partners, promoting the event, and handling logistics and communication.
Alumnae Meet-Ups: Develop deep knowledge of where our alumnae are and what industry events attract them to spearhead tangential alumnae meet-ups and events.
Monthly Newsletter: Research Springboard portfolio companies, track updates and work with the team to create visual and informative three regularly distributed newsletters to our alumnae, advisors, and broader community.
Weekly Blog Column: Recruit alumnae to write 400-600 word posts, help edit those posts and directly communicate with the writer until the piece is ready to post.
Social Media: Manage Springboard’s presence on Twitter, Linkedin and Facebook when each is appropriate, updating and organizing Flickr with event pictures and keeping watch of social media sites for news about our alumnae.
Other Programs: Support the team on additional Springboard events and programs, such as our Annual Winner’s Circle Awards Dinner, Corporate Meetings, and more.
