Job Description

At Splendid Spoon there’s massive opportunity for growth—and we’re looking for someone to take the lead! You’ll bring our paid marketing efforts in-house, and oversee all aspects of digital acquisition. You’ll create, test, and execute strategies to scale, reduce overall CACs, and increase customer LTVs.

We’re looking for someone ambitious, bright, and entrepreneurial, with the analytics and creativity to identify high potential customer segments, formulate high-impact brand messaging, and guide creative execution. You’ve personally and successfully managed large digital media budgets, and ROAS gets you out of bed in the morning. You’ll own the customer journey from creative and targeting to landing pages and conversion. This role reports to the CEO and collaborates closely with our Owned and Earned Marketing teams.

The Skill Set:

Left & right-brained: Informed POV on advertising creative & consumer behavior—balanced with an obsession on KPIs, rigorous data analysis and hypothesis-driven experimentation
4+ years work experience in a highly-quantitative digital advertising role in e-commerce or relevant agency
This role will initially focus on paid Facebook & Instagram; experience managing direct response campaigns on Facebook’s advertising platform with $1m+ annual budgets
Experience managing direct response campaigns on Adwords and web display channels a plus.
Experience with under-the-radar acquisition opportunities beyond standard Facebook/Google/Display/Native
Brings a strong rolodex to any role, and thrives on staying on the cutting edge of growth strategies and tactics
Hustler who can execute on copy and creative independently—and manage teams for more involved projects.
Experience working with creative teams and equipped with trusted contacts: videographers, photographers, copywriters
Google Analytics, Mixpanel, and Microsoft Excel power user; SQL skills a plus
Bachelor’s degree or beyond

Responsibilities:

1) Learning: Immediately

Collaborate and manage external agency partner in execution of Facebook, Adwords, and other paid channels.
Learn and optimize internal creative and design process and begin to manage creative asset production and deployment
Identify and report on KPIs describing overall performance of paid acquisition
Lead transition of agency responsibilities to in-house

2) Doing: Within 3 months

Manage the strategy and daily execution of paid Facebook: from large campaign initiatives to regular bid management
Manage the strategy and daily execution of Adwords and other channels from large campaign initiatives to regular bid management
Source and test new acquisition channels with the goal of finding efficient and scalable ways to grow the business
Lead in the development of ad and landing page creative, formulating and owning a testing schedule to drive optimization and growth through feedback, iteration, and A/B testing
Scale marketing channels, adhering to KPIs on # of new customers, CVRs and CPAs
Partner with our data science team to identify, track, and develop strategies to improve KPIs
Execute on simple creative and copy and provide direction to designers and copywriters for more complex projects

3) Mastering: Within 6 months;

Identify gaps within our paid acquisition strategy and drive hiring strategy to build your team
Partner with our Owned and Earned media teams to increase efficiency of overall customer acquisition and brand awareness machine

Compensation:

Annual Salary: $125,000-150,000
Equity: .42%-.51%, in addition to semi-annual retention grants.
