Hey 👋, thanks for checking us out!
Overview
SmallStep is an experimental newsletter in open research and investing, and is one of best ways to learn about the science, business, and strategy of various technology projects and companies pushing humanity forward.
We use first principles thinking and scientific expertise to explore and write about different ideas, build long term theses, and sometimes invest in cool public companies and startups. Our general thesis is simple: fundamentally understanding and supporting the exploration and commercialization of disruptive ideas in science and technology leads to enormous value generation in the long term.
First Principles, Thesis Driven Investing in the Founders and Technologies Pushing Humanity Forward
This is no doubt an unprecedented time of innovation for the human race. Advancements in biotechnology, artificial intelligence, distributed computing, and even fundamental mathematics and physics are opening the door to radical improvements in the human condition.
We aim to support the relentless teams pursuing these realities in any way possible, and we are equipped both technically and operationally to add significant value.
Value Addition: Technical and Operational Expertise
We're a team of scientists, engineers, and knowledge workers who have had experience working on some of the most interesting and difficult problems out there, both in academic and commercial settings.
As needed, we can function as a hot swappable engineering, operation, and outreach resource: we can get our hands dirty helping you build critical features, resolve blocked tasks, tap into our LP network to get you the expertise needed to solve an ever growing variety of problems, and also promote, share, and grow awareness around product & feature releases.
