I recently completed the Full Stack Software Engineering Immersive at the Grace Hopper Program at Fullstack Academy of Code and am looking to join a thoughtful and enthusiastic engineering team.Describe what you have done, what you are doing, and the kinds of things you are interested in.
One of the things I'm most proud of is having started up a small storefront for locally made goods with a partner in Rochester, NY in 2013 as an experimental endeavor in supporting local makers. We refurbished the space with our own hands, built the sales counter and display shelves, and designed branding. We offered for sale on a consignment basis the work of over 20 local artists and makers. This was a tremendous learning experience for me, and intensified my conviction in learning by doing.
More specifically to programming, one project I would highlight is a social blockchain app for reducing food waste, called Potluck, created together with three teammates. We wrote a smart contract in Solidity to facilitate the exchange of food items between users, utilized Web3 and Geth to interact with the EVM and start and stop nodes and mining, and built a straightforward and directed user interface with React-Redux that featured a number of modular and reusable components.Describe the most impressive thing you've done.
I am looking for a positive and energetic team that is interested in learning from one another. I would love some degree of collaboration and the opportunity to write some tests and/or utilize TDD. I enjoy both back-end and front-end work, especially Postgres/Sequelize and React-Redux.Describe what you're looking for in a company.
