The Canadian Feminist Alliance for International Action (FAFIA), a federally-funded government organization to promote women's rights in Canada, needed a platform to promote the awareness of various issues. In 2015, their most dire priority was to promote the awareness of and stop the murders and disappearances of Indigenous women and girls (MMIWG) in Canada.
BRANDING: Working with the client, a new, more sophisticated logo and visual brand was created, one that was more positive and hopeful while fuelled with energy and passion. The design represents the collective strength of the different organizations that make up the umbrella organization of FAFIA.

Based in Vancouver, BC, NW Seat Covers is a brand of SCC Northwest, a manufacturer and distributor of custom-made vehicle seat covers for retail customers across North America.
The stakeholders wanted the website to offer a way for customers to choose their products either by: 1) Vehicle Model/Make/Year, or by 2) Fabric Type, which the new design offers.
The content for the new site is more engaging through the use of images, descriptive text and a section about the company's USP to help position themselves in a highly competitive market. With a high price point, customers needed to understand WHY they should buy from this company, vs. going to a lower-priced competitor.
User testing revealed illuminating insights on areas for improvement and design tweaks to make the checkout process seamless, and increased sales by 22%.
A detailed "About Us" section was added for potential customers to establish trust and credibility. This page was not only good for customers landing on the page organically, but it was also used by the company's internal sales team for B2B wholesale customers, which at 80% of sales, are the bread and butter of the company's success.

Their current website does not represent them in the professional light that they deserve. With clients like Translink, City of Whistler, City of Coquitlam, etc., they greatly need a website that showcases their calibre of clients, serving not only as a brochure website, but one that generates leads.
Phase 1 of the project -- Design Strategy -- has been completed, including: website audit, competitor analysis, site map, content strategy, low and medium fidelity wireframes, style tiles and high-fidelity mockups.
Phases 2 and 3 -- Content Creation and Coding -- will occur concurrently.The projected completion date is in Spring 2016.

PROFESSIONAL: I obtained my bachelor's degree in visual and UX design at a 100% francophone university before launching my own branding and web design freelance business for the next 5 years. Feeling very fortunate to be working in a field that combines my greatest strengths: language and art, with my interests: psychology and technology.
PERSONALLY: Figure skating was one of my passions in my earlier years, and my coach suggested that I train to skate for Walt Disney. Unfortunately, I had to quit my skating career due to injury, but I can make a mean Thai curry dish! ;)
