When we raised our round we told investors that we'd want them to be hands on, and that's exactly what Jake has been. For example, Jake helped us figure out some of the more unsexy but necessary parts of running a company: how to properly set up HR/healthcare, what questions to ask when hiring, and how to deal with the stuff no one talks about like firing and the emotional rollercoaster that comes with running a startup.
I can't recommend Jake enough. As an investor, and as a friend, Jake is top notch and I'm absolutely excited and thankful to be working with him.
Jake did outstanding job as an investor and advisor to my startup. He has fantastic business acumen and is willing to share his advice as well as his extensive rolodex. His advice was instrumental to build the right product, increase our customer base, and raise funds. He responds very quickly and always delivers on his promises. I would highly recommend him as an advisor and investor.

Jake's been a very impactful investor and advisor for us. He's proactive about reaching out frequently and suggesting ways he might be able to help. He's responsive and always available on short notice. He referred us to a fantastic marketing hire. Thanks Jake!
CEO of oDesk, the world's largest online workplace.
Jake has been one of the earliest, most earnest, and most thoughtful advisor to SimplyInsured. His wealth of knowledge around growth, marketing, people management, prioritization, and providing a "50,000 foot view" has helped us make the right choices in tough situations.
I could not recommend him enough. He introduced me to the investor who did our Series A. He introduced me to advisors and mentors in engineering, recruiting, and other functions to uplevel SimplyInsured's game.
CEO @simplyinsured who thinks your resume looks pretty good. @y-combinator. @mit EECS 2007. @cardpool (YC10) acquired by @safeway. @mckinsey-co-1
Jake is one of our most impactful angels. He’s sharp, well-connected, an experienced operator, and always available to help. He’s secured a spot on the short list of advisors we depend most heavily on. I couldn’t be happier having Jake on our side.
There are plenty of advisors in Silicon Valley but the ones you want on your team are the ones who will have your back when times get tough. Jake is that kind of guy. While others disappear when adversity comes knocking, Jake steps up and helps you navigate the challenge. During a pivot, he both introduced us to a key strategic partner and our largest single customer. I can honestly say our business wouldn't be where it is without Jake; he's the real deal.
Jake is one of those investors who is as comfortable talking about grand strategies as he is going into the deep weeds. He's helped me with everything from how think about running a company...to what type of risk profile Starsky should be willing to accept when we store our investor's money. He was also super helpful during our Series A.
Jake is a guy who is happy to help out when the going gets tough - I've been glad to have him in my corner during a number of tough situations.
I've been fortunate to work with Jake starting at 500's Fintech program. Jake has been a champion for Littlefund giving us his time, network, and guidance. I guess he's got a talent to spot amazing early ;)! Working with Jake you get reliability, honesty, and trust. Things that founders need on their side besides $$$!
Jake is one of our most involved angel investors - in the earliest days of our product, Jake switched over to paying his rent with Pinch immediately. Like everything he does, he participated 100%: critiquing our user flows, sending us screenshots with bugs :| and improving the product in a hands-on way.
When we raised our next round, Jake played many different roles: investing directly in us, proactively suggesting new investors, back-channeling us, and being patient while we struggled to finalize our fundraising strategy. We felt him pulling for us and setting us up for success again and again: every time we met someone in the FinTech world and would start to explain what we're building, we'd be interrupted "Oh, I know your company, Jake Gibson raves about you!"

Jake is among the best investors and people I've ever worked with, and I would be honored to work with him again in the future. He would be the first person I would talk to if I was starting a new company and I give him my highest possible recommendation. He stuck with us through thick and thin and always provided calm and steady support when we needed it the most. Every investor likes to say they're founder friendly, but few truly are. Jake is the real deal and you should work with him if you ever get a chance.
I'm Co-founder and CEO of @seed-8. Previously, I was the 2nd employee and VPE at @simple. Also engineering @jelly and @topsy, and leadership at Gap, @sony.
Jake is a great investor with great connections in FinTech and Tech more generally. I always share my interesting deal flow with Jake and always want to hear his perspective on deals. He is one of only a handful of angels that we asked to invest in our new company.
I'm grateful to have Jake as a supporter, investor, and friend of Eave. Amongst our 30+ investors, Jake has been one of the most thoughtful, caring, insightful, and persistent partners to me and my co-founders. Importantly, Jake both thinks like an excellent investor and entrepreneur, so you get the best of both hats / worlds when seeking advice from Jake. Additionally, he's willing and eager to put himself and his reputation out there to help his companies. That means spot-on introductions and digging in to support fundraises, even when the company is going through rough patches. Fair weather investors are easy to find. An investor and mentor who is truly committed to your team's success no matter what is of immeasurable value.
I'd be thrilled to have Jake invest in my next company. He'd be amongst the first people I'd contact.
I am an entrepreneur and full-time angel investor that likes to get involved with early-stage companies and help the founders in any way possible, including management, organizational development, recruiting, marketing, and fundraising.
