2013 - Present (about 7 years)
Created and maintained TabCAT, an Open Source project to help diagnose various forms of dementia through cognitive tasks on an iPad.
TabCAT is written in pure HTML5,...more so that it can work on all mobile/tablet platforms, and so that it can be maintained by web developers. In addition to being in active use at the Memory and Aging Center at UCSF, TabCAT is being used to develop a cognitive screening tool for Quest Diagnostics.
2010 - Present (over 10 years)
Created and maintain mrjob, the foremost Python library for Hadoop and Elastic MapReduce. Currently doing this as a consultant for Yelp.
I wrote several key pieces of software for yelp.com, including about half of the review filter. I'm also primary maintainer of the open source big data Python library mrjob and the UCSF Alzheimers/Dementia cognitive testing tool TabCAT.
I am looking to invest in companies that will rock the world.
