After my junior year of college, I interned at a start up called iMedicare. When I joined, iMedicare had about 40 customers and I was the only employee. After the summer, they told me that they could not pay me going forward (what we had originally agreed on) but I told them that I would work for free because I believed in the company and its goal. I worked for them remotely while finishing my BA at Davidson College and then joined them after graduating to serve as the VP of Operations and Sales. Two years later, we have grown to almost 5000 customers and I have been serving as the CFO. I have taught myself sales, support, programing, accounting, HR and more throughout my tenure to ensure that iMedicare is compliant and as efficient as possible in order to reach its goal.
