The Financial Solutions Lab is a $30 million, five-year initiative managed by the Center for Financial Services Innovation with founding partner JPMorgan Chase.
The Lab seeks to identify, test and bring to scale promising innovations that help Americans increase savings, improve credit, and build assets. Lab participants share a relentless focus on building products that will improve the financial health of Americans.
At the Association for Enterprise Opportunity we were chosen by Citi to facilitate the first ever Microentrepreneurship Awards in the United States. Being a global program with a long and successful track record this was a huge honor, and also a huge responsibility for our very small team. I proactively took on the challenge to lead the project and deliver on the technology, marketing, judging, and all other facets of the program. In the end we had hundreds of microbusinesses and microbusiness organizations that applied. The most rewarding part of the project was having the finalists present live in front of our annual conference. Working with counterparts at Citi and producing a product that exceeded expectations from our funder and partner while rewarding so many deserving individuals was an incredible experience; knowing that I owned the project from end to end and had personal contact with all these folks made it that much more of an accomplishment for me to hang my hat on.
