Malcolm MacKillop founded a non-profit organization dubbed "LIFE" which stands for Lawyers’ International Food Enterprise. It is an organization for Lawyers to give back. Malcolm MacKillop was also named amongst “the Top 500 Lawyers in Canada” (2008-2017) by Lexpert and was listed as a leading employment law practitioner in The Guide to Best Lawyers in Canada (2012). He was also given the BV rating in 2008 by Martindale-Hubbell. In 2016, he was awarded the Randall Echlin Mentorship Award. He is on the board of directors for the National Ballet of Canada, and a board member for the HRPA Toronto Chapter (Human Resources Professional Association).
