However, machine translation cannot yet provide quality guarantees for professional document translation, which is a $17.6B market. Human translators are needed to assure quality, and human translation remains mostly a manual trade. Technology penetration is low, and translator productivity has stagnated over the past two decades at about 2,700 words per day.
