Who we are
Jeff has worked with Matt for over 6 years in web development. Working together, they have developed a great report working with one another, spit-balling ideas off one another, and developing great features in web development and e-commerce. Jeff and Chris have been friends from childhood. Former college roomates, they have been like-minded on all things tech since school. Chris and Matt met through their shared relationship with Jeff. Three like-minded individuals who all work well together.
Why we're doing this
The primary driver of the idea is Jeff. Coming from a background in big e-commerce and small business, a need was realized that there was no real solution to. Small businesses have a high barrier-to-entry in e-commerce and in point-of-sales systems. Also, no simple and easy to use platform is readily available for small business. While numerous apps exist for small business, each one lives in it's own ecosystem and rarely share data. Lemonade Stand brings them all together in one place.
Most impressive accomplishment
Jeff Pittelkow has been in web development since the late 90's when he was a 13 year old working for numerous Chicago based IPO's. With a background in web development, network administration, and design, while also working in small business and enjoying mild success with a few of his own small businesses, Jeff's background is ripe to create Lemonade Stand. Most recently, he has been an e-commerce Product Manager working with platforms such as IBM WebSphere and Magento.
Chris Jones has a degree in Advertising and an MA in new media. A marketing guru, Chris spends his free time writing for Technori and brushing up on his comedic writing skills at Second City. Running numerous marketing efforts for the likes of University of Chicago, Northwestern, the Steppenwolf, and his own theater company in Chicago, he has enjoyed mild success and excellent reviews for his new media savvy.
Tell us why you're building this business, and why you're the right
people to do it.
We are currently looking for a round of seed funding to get off the ground. We are an A-team squad consisting of an all-star business development and product manager, a new media marketing and strategy ninja, and a design guru. However, we're looking to bring on a wizard developer. We will be hiring multiple developers for salary + equity and focus on getting our first iteration to market ASAP. We have projected revenue into the hundreds of millions withing 5 years via a sound and sustainable revenue stream. All we need to do is get off the ground and running.
