I've had a hand in 19 startups (as an investor or Board Member) that were able to become publicly listed companies. Served on the Board on 7 of them at the time of listing. Have direct experience founding, funding and running several companies including one as Founder Chairman and CEO that built Data Center infrastructure in 11 countries and was able to do it's IPO in 2000.
Became a sponsored athlete in Kiteboarding in 2008 :-). Have run a 5:15 mile, and did a perfect 800 on GRE (Chemistry) way back when...
I met Bill three years ago when I was in the early stages of my first company, he was our window to San Francisco. His encouragement, incredible network and words of wisdom over the years have been invaluable to our success, he is a true visionary.
Founder of a company Bill Tai invested in
I always feel fortunate to be able to observe and learn from Bill. For Caterva, Bill brings to our team things beyond what would be expected: ideas, vision, passion, and his ability to open any door. From the very beginning, he helped us to articulate a grand vision which truly set the course for the team in the long run. With his capacity to recognize big opportunity and define far-reaching vision, Bill is an invaluable investor/co-founder for any start-up to go after.
Bill is quite literally, our dream advisor--with his balance of tech chops, entrepreneurial instinct, and, as co-founder of MaiTai, passion for all things Flow-inducing, we couldn't have a more-aligned advisor to guide us through our raise, launch and growth arc.
