I am not technically looking for a new gig, as I am very happy at my current job. Having said that, eventually I will be looking to join an early stage startup as a technical co-founder, architect, or a CTO. My passion is in building and leading teams and establishing healthy culture + practices.Describe what you have done, what you are doing, and the kinds of things you are interested in.
During the last three years I have been consulting with a dozen or so startups in San Francisco on issues such as scalability, agile process, deployment, DevOps, stability and uptime, application performance, PostgreSQL, and many more topics to mention. Prior to that, I worked as a CTO at Wanelo, where I built and led the "dream" engineering team, by establishing a culture of collaboration, positivity, mastery and respect. We supported this culture with a set of best practices, such as – pair programming, TDD, continuous deployment, and 100% DevOps automation. We cultivated a work environment that paid off in a high productivity, low defect rate, and a happy, self-managing team. Not to mention – 99.99% site uptime. The data layer featured a horizontally sharded PostgreSQL with over 5B rows. I regularly speak at conferences and have nearly 200K views on Slideshare.Describe the most impressive thing you've done.
