making code that deals with shapes @unspun :] Studied Mechanical Engineering and art at Carnegie Mellon University.
I write programs that deal with shapes. Shapes are my favorite. At the moment I am interested in fun computational geometry problems, staying pragmatic, ecology and evolution. I have made various generative art projects using programming and a mesh-unwrapper that runs in Rhino.
Describe what you have done, what you are doing, and the kinds of things you are interested in.Created a cad plugin called rhino-unfolder, which allows users to unwrap meshes for manufacture in sheet-metal or plastic.
Designed, machined, and built a rig for measuring the motion of linear drives at the micron resolution. Built software for collecting and logging data. Did analysis of the data and performed experiments on linear drives.
Experimented with genetic programming and simulations of coral growth with python.
Took Nonlinear Dynamics: Mathematical and Computational Approaches online course, did assignments in Julia (new scientific computing language), it was a great experience!
Describe the most impressive thing you've done.Fun projects, fun collaborators, good trees to climb.
Describe what you're looking for in a company. If On a Winter's Night A Traveler, The Golden Compass Series
Programming 114. I was super lost and didn't understand why I should care about strings and whatnot. And then about 75% through the class I was like HOLY COW!!! This is so neat!
