Our development team is an interdisciplinary mix, covering the full range from hardware and firmware development through systems, web, and mobile. Our highest priority is safeguarding the privacy and security of our users. We believe that it's possible to have a connected system without gathering huge amounts of information on the private lives of our customers. As a result, we have developed our whole system almost entirely in-house, using cutting-edge cryptography, an innovative wireless sensor network, and an open-source approach.
KIWI consists of four system components. The transponder - called KIWI Ki - replaces the physical key. The door sensor sits in the locking system of the house. When an authorized KIWI Ki approaches, the sensor would unlock the door by activating the door strike. A gateway ensures constant connection to the KIWI Infrastructure. The infrastructure itself is the joint administration platform behind all accesses.
A patent has been filed for the encrypted authentication process between Ki and sensor. The sensor is compatible with almost every electrified bell panel and easy to install. Thus, the lock doesn't need to be touched.
KIWI is no big data company. We cannot see, who is opening which door. The system has been explicitly developed with the intention to protect the users' privacy.

We sell enterprise software, so we have a B2B sales model. We reach customers through our network and industry events. We do deployments with clients to prove success in achieving target metrics, and then help the organization roll out in a phased manner.
