Job Description

Social Media Manager @ Hinge

Hinge is the dating app that's designed to be deleted (really -- we're the #1 dating app mentioned in the New York Times wedding section). We've ditched mindless swiping to bring users an experience that mimics meeting in real life: 360-degree profiles are built to show off each person's personality.

Mission
Project the Hinge brand message through engaging social media assets across all social channels. You will be responsible for day-to-day maintenance of Hinge’s social accounts and will work directly with the Creative Director to ensure all content elicits an emotional reaction from followers -- we want to keep people laughing, thinking, and loving Hinge and what we stand for.

2018 Goals
Grow @Hinge Instagram account to 130k followers by December 2018
Make Hinge the dating app to follow on social media -- even if you’re not single

Responsibilities
Manage and maintain all Hinge-owned social channels on day-to-day basis
Create original content for all Hinge platforms (Instagram posts, Instagram stories, Snapchat stories, tweets) that is highly shareable and encourages two-way conversation
Collaborate with design team to create social assets for Hinge platforms and partners
Ensure brand voice comes through across all social platforms and posts
Respond to all comments, messages, and tweets in timely manner; actively chat with followers in friendly, conversational way
Maintain Airtable (content calendar) of upcoming social posts
Develop and analyze benchmark metrics to measure the results of social media campaigns and strategies
Report weekly social health metrics/content wrap-up to entire Hinge team
Maintain ~10k/month Instagram growth while actively strategizing how to optimize social growth using tools at your disposal (partner posts, influencers, etc.)
Maintain 7-8% follower engagement on Instagram (stories and posts)
Monitor social space for conversations, activities and trends of competitors/like-minded brands

Requirements
Experience: Managing social accounts with cult followings.
Keen understanding of the “social media world” -- you have seen every meme, have heard every joke, and spends hours on Instagram and Twitter. You’re a voracious consumer of pop culture and can predict the Top 10 trending stories on Buzzfeed without breaking a sweat.
Deep interest in dating, dating apps, and relationships - you know all about “dating culture” and could host a brunch roundtable on the topic.
Preferred, but not necessary: you’ve grown a viral Instagram account (meme, fashion, etc.) with a strong personality and understand the balance of growing an account while maintaining its voice
Transparent: You invite and deeply consider challenges and criticism. You share your genuine thoughts and opinions directly.
Kind: You’re empathetic and communitarian.
Bold: You proactively identify and pursue opportunity. You think big and aren’t afraid to take risks.
Smart: You exercise excellent judgment using principles. You learn new things quickly.

The Hinge Culture
Candid: You are the first person to come to someone directly with an issue, or a compliment. The team can trust you to always be honest, even when it’s not the easy thing to do. You make all of us stronger by sharing your unique perspective and caring enough to make your feedback known.
Open: You are open to change, feedback, and help - in fact you seek all of these things out. When someone challenges your ideas, you are able use their feedback as fuel to attack the problem from a different direction, and as an opportunity to challenge your own assumptions.
Empowered: “The authority or power to do something.” See something, say something, change it. You are empowered to not only speak candidly about what you want to change, but you are actually the person who acts to change it. Be a co-creator and innovator, not a commentator.
Rigorous: You approach your work with hustle and a critical eye. You’re smart. You can cut through a lot of data and noise to arrive at the right answer. You’re not afraid to explore a direction that may be wrong, because you know it will ultimately lead to further insights.
Positive: You’re a problem solver who believes there’s a solution. Even when you cannot see the outcome, you encourage others with your energy and attitude to continue without roadblocks or fear of failure.

This is a full-time position in NYC. The compensation package includes benefits.

***Please note that Hinge will not be able to provide sponsorship for an employment visa.***
