The Garment is the Computer
In the near future, garments and pieces of clothing that we wear every day will be sensor equipped. E-textiles are replacing conductive material and traditional sensor technology. Heapsylon is a startup focused on human instrumentation, software and smart-fabric enabled wearable devices for health and fitness. Heapsylon is focused on delivering a family of body-sensing devices. Our SDK proprietary sensor-enabled t-shirt, sport bra and smart-socks enable developers to build app that capture and communicate data such as activity type, heart rate, Gait and in-footwear pressure to the user. The data is presented and analyzed in an easy-to-use, mobile dashboard. Sensoria makes it more fun and safer to exercise by converting data in real-time actionable information. Over 30 million health and fitness devices were shipped in 2012, up 37% on 2011 (ABI). Sensor equipped wearable devices are projected to become a 400M unit market worth $4B by 2014 (Qualcomm/Dow Jones).
