FITrax provides an integrated hardware and software solution that enables members in a fitness facility (Fitness clubs and corporate fitness facilities) to effortlessly Track, Analyze and Improve their Health and Fitness.
FITRAX has developed a novel technology (software and hardware sensors) to automatically track a user's strength activities on existing strength equipment in a fitness facility. User just checks in on the strength equipment with his identification band and starts performing his/her exercise. FITRAX automatically record his activity data like weight lifted, repetitions done, and time taken.
Banu, Ramesh, and Vikas all worked at Nokia before leaving to pursue entrepreneurship dream and founding FITrax. All of us met 5 years back while working at Nokia, instantly we became good family friends. All of us share the common vision of helping people to stay healthy by providing data and tools.

Why we're doing this
We truly believe to provide tools to people so they can see how their fitness activities help them improve their health. Having automatic tracking of my fitness activities and providing feedback to improve the efficency of my fitness activities would enable me to stay more enaged in the gym and improve my health.The team has been actively working on this solution since Dec 2011. Solution is being trialed in one Fitness center in Lexington, MA.

MBA from Babson College, #1 in entrepreneurship. Vikas has taken many ideas from napkin stage to products launched in marketplace. He managed multi million dollar incubator program at Nokia. Holds one patent for Mobile. Closed two big acquisitions for Nokia. His last job was Director of Technology to create and manage Nokia's cloud infrastructure.
MBA from Chicago Booth School of Business. Banu has led many product development, strategy teams while working for Nokia. His last job was Director of R&D at Nokia, responsible for Nokia's local commerce venture. He holds 2 patents in Mobile space.
Has more than 20 years of product development and management experience. Has led many teams in building Nokia browser for low end, cost effective mobile devices.
Tell us why you're building this business, and why you're the right
people to do it.
We have been actively working on this for the last 18 months and all of us committed ourselves full time for the last 6 months. In the process, we have spoken to many fitness facilities, customers, insurance companies and we have received encouraging feedback from all of them. We have developed Phase 1 of our product and is being currently tried in one fitness center.
