Before starting Lighthouse, I ran Product at KISSmetrics. I've also worked at a scaling startup (E Ink) & an early stage funded startup (oneforty). I built a profitable venture with a small, distributed team (Greenhorn Connect).
I built Greenhorn Connect into a 4 person side project with over $50k annual revenue and solid profits. I did everything but coding until we had enough revenue to build a team. I then sold it in August 2014 to the Capital Network who continues to operate it today.
At the same time I built a career focused on customer development which led to moving to San Francisco to run product at KISSmetrics. I believe the only way to build a company is to be customer centric from top to bottom. Engineers and designers should talk directly to customers. The sales and support teams should be carefully listened to as they're on the front lines every day.
