What started as an observation - that people used apps like Evernote as (terrible) ways to organize their business ideas - evolved into Elevatr.
Elevatr launched in May 2013. It's the first ever iOS only business planning app. In just 10 months, over 100,000 entrepreneurs have downloaded the tool and over 230,000 ideas have been created.
It’s just the beginning. Elevatr’s goal from the start has been to fundamentally change how people start businesses. That means supporting additional mobile devices, adding new engaging, monetizable features, and scaling quickly to entrepreneurs all over the world.
iOS only right now. Differentiated through user experience, defensible through network effects.
From 2008 to 2012, David Spiro studied entrepreneurship at the University of Michigan Business School and Engineering School where he started two businesses and became the first undergrad to receive the school’s award for Exceptional Entrepreneurial Development.
We are living the Entrepreneurial Age. There’s a huge, growing market of people who want to get into entrepreneurship.
Massively valuable networks are being built off the Entrepreneurial Age (Angel List, Kickstarter, Quirky, etc). A network that captures entrepreneurs right when they have their ideas will be uniquely positioned to get acquired by or outgrow said networks.
Elevatr’s business planning tool is capturing entrepreneurs right when they have their ideas, with viral growth.
