What I Do
I'm a web developer. I love programming, learning, and the feeling of satisfaction that I get from creating something. I'm open to working front-end or back-end and I'm happy to wear all sorts of different hats if the situation requires - I love a challenge.
At the age of 14 I began working at a local restaurant part time. I graduated high school with the top student award in both information technology and mathematics, and I was running the restaurant by 18.
During university, I was the only person from my school to be awarded a New Colombo Plan scholarship to study abroad at the City University of Hong Kong. I was also one of a select few students who participated in a parliamentary internship program.
In the past 2 years I have moved to China, taught myself Chinese, done corporate English training for the likes of Citibank and Heineken, traveled all around the world, and started a Master's degree. In the past 8 months, I've gone from zero programming knowledge or IT background to building my own modern full-stack web applications from scratch.
I believe this shows my ambition, determination and willingness to put in the work to get to where I want to be. I'm not afraid to give something new a try, and I love to learn.
I'm looking for a remote position, though I'm open to something local in the Taipei area. I'd love the opportunity to put my React skills to good use, but I'm open to any sort of web dev work. If I have to learn a new language or framework for the job, I'm confident that I'll pick it up quickly.
