Who we are:

Yup is an education technology company that was founded on a simple yet powerful vision: to help every student thrive. The Yup app provides students with unlimited, 24/7 access to tutoring at a flat fee, so they can learn on their own schedule. We believe that equitable access to academic resources needs to be a worldwide priority. Our goal is to see as many students as possible use our resources and achieve long-term academic success. Yup is proudly backed by Stanford University’s StartX and Sesame Street’s VC, Sesame Workshop.

The Business Intelligence Analyst sits on the Tutor Operations team. The Tutor Operations team has a straightforward yet ambitious goal: provide every Yup student who requests a tutor with instant access to a high-quality learning experience. We are responsible for the hiring, training, scheduling, payment, and evaluation of Yup’s remote tutor workforce.

What you will do:

Your job is to build the analytical tools and harness the data insights that will drive our operational strategy. You will leverage existing business intelligence platforms and develop new processes that will ensure success at scale. You will lead the team in the effective use of our core G-suite processes and dashboards to measure overall tutor effectiveness and student satisfaction. You will need to craft SQL queries to pull data from our backend, write google scripts to ensure that data pulls to our dashboards are timely and functional, and visualize data using Business Intelligence software.

Your impact:

Data-driven decisions are at the core of our operational excellence. Managing data for the tutor operations team allows us to function effectively and make informed decisions in the best interest of our students. You will provide a lens into every aspect of our operations, from ensuring that tutors are available instantly to crafting payment systems that incentivize performance to measuring in-session behaviors that follow best practices in tutoring. You will fully own systems, create new tools, and dig deeper into areas where we have a lot of data but little lens into how we should use it to inform strategy.
