Opportunity to join our team
Wrench is seeking a Director of Human Resources to join its highly-dynamic and fast-growing team. This role will be accountable for aligning people strategy across the company, tactical implementation of policies and procedures, and hands-on work to effectively create a human resources suite. A successful candidate contributes to the business strategy by helping Wrench’s leaders identify, prioritize, and build organizational capabilities, structures, processes, and behaviors. This position will also be highly tactical and will be responsible for the creation of materials, tools and resources from the ground-up, in an autonomous role and within a fast-paced environment. Our ideal candidate will be able to embrace start-up culture, ideally possess start-up experience, is not afraid to dig-in and thrive in an entrepreneurial environment where velocity is high. This is an individual contributor role, with team expansion as the company grows and will report into our Chief Operating Officer.
An ideal candidate must have experience in the following areas to effectively support the company and contribute to the achievement of its business objectives. Key responsibilities include:
Administration & Onboarding: Develop and manage our onboarding program to effectively welcome new hires into our community and handle the necessary administrative functions to setup a new employee including payroll, benefits and related tasks
Employee Engagement: Works collaboratively within the organization to nurture our culture, drive engagement, employee satisfaction and report out on employee sentiment
Performance Management: Responsible for performance management including terminations, annual reviews, compensation reviews/matrices, etc
Policies, Procedures & Resource Management: Develop and implement company-wide materials and best practices in order create structure, institute policy(s) and establish an overall framework that fits Wrench and its style
Strategic Planning: Work in conjunction with the executive team in roadmap planning, identifying talent gaps, or resource weaknesses and implement strategy(s) to mitigate
Talent Acquisition: Owning the recruiting process and supporting the core business including offer letters, employment agreements and related materials
Talent Management & Development: Develop, oversee and implement our talent management program, work in conjunction with Wrench’s business leaders to host talent reviews, identify key talent and cultivate that talent into future leadership positions
Qualifications and Experience
- 6+ years in a HR Business Partner management capacity
- Diverse employment experience in varying size companies, start-up experience is important
- Significant experience in creating and publishing human resources related materials; employee handbooks, performance materials, review materials, etc
- Well versed in human resources best practices and industry-standard policy(s) (SHRM)
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Exceptional presentation skills and ability to effectively communicate objectives and outcomes
