Senior Software Engineer (Backend)

Workyard is a growing startup based out of the Bay Area, operating in the construction industry where $300 billion is spent annually on labor. We are developing an industry changing technology SaaS solution to manage labor for construction companies. Through a unique approach into the market, we are fundamentally changing the experience for both companies and workers by adding trust, transparency, and technology to the labor management process.

With offices in the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles and Sydney, we are growing our engineering team in Sydney, and looking for senior experienced full stack backend engineers to lead, build and scale a world-class application solution for the construction industry.

This position reports to the Head of Engineering, based out of our Sydney, Australia office.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a senior full stack to focus on the backend.

• Build high-quality code
• Be involved and participate in the overall application lifecycle
• Collaborate with front-end and mobile developers
• Develop and support software including applications, database integration, interfaces, and new functionality enhancements
• Coordinate cross-functionally to insure project meets business objectives and compliance standards
• Support test and deployment of new products and features
• Participate in code reviews
• Provide training, help and support to other team members
• Stay up to date with current best practices

*Requirements *

• 6+ years of experience of back end or full stack development for web applications
• Experience working with relational databases like MySQL
• Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with Amazon Web Services, Docker, and CI/CD platforms
• Experience with PHP, Laravel, Canva, Golang or interested in the stack
• Team player
• Good organizational and time-management skills
• Great interpersonal and communication skills
• BS degree in Computer Science or similar relevant field
