The Role

MEET WISERFUNDING
Wiserfunding is a London-based fintech specialised in assessing the credit risk of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Our clients leverage our credit Risk-as-a-Service (RaaS) platform to take better and faster decisions around lending to or doing business with SMEs. Our team brings together the leading experts of SME risk modelling and SME financing from across the world. Our co-founder, Prof. Edward Altman, invented the first business credit scoring model, Altman Z-Score, more than 50 years ago.

THE ROLE
This is a unique opportunity to become part of a fast-growing fintech and gain insight into every aspect of running and scaling a business. You will be reporting to the Head of Delivery across a broad spectrum of activities, supporting both day-to-day operations and growth.
Whilst responsibilities will vary, we’d expect them to include:

  • Involvement across the entire customer acquisition cycle. This can range from preparing tailored solution materials and proposals, interacting with prospective clients to understand operational needs, and supporting technical sales pitches.
  • Preparing material and content writing (including technical documentation, manuals, proposals, presentations, reports, research papers and blog writing) to be shared internally and/or externally;
  • Working hand in hand with the management team to structure and develop Wiserfunding's operations by setting up the right processes and analytics to scale;
  • Researching and analysing market trends to inform strategy-setting and provide insights for senior management;
  • Supporting the development and execution of go-to-market, growth and sales strategies to drive our international expansion.

WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE
We are looking for an individual with 3-4 years’ experience in consulting, ideally with some background in risk and/or finance. It is essential that you are an adaptable self-starter who can wear multiple hats. We are looking for doers who are also proactive in exploring initiatives and opportunities that can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the business and ultimately support our rapid scale-up in Europe and beyond.

CHARACTERISTICS

  • You have best-in-class communication skills (English) – both written and oral;
  • You are highly motivated with a positive attitude, with an entrepreneurial, creative and continuous improvement mindset;
  • You are proactive, with rigorous analytical skills and good attention to detail.
  • You can engage with any audience, both technical (e.g. CRO or Head of Credit) or commercial. Furthermore, you can translate and position our value proposition into a vision that the prospect will recognise as valuable and relevant to their needs.

HIGHLY DESIRABLE

  • Knowledge in risk management and/or finance;
  • Excellent command of Microsoft PowerPoint (yes, your skills in putting together amazing decks will be valued!);
  • Great communication skills;
  • Knowledge of Italian and/or French is desirable.
