WHAT IS WHYHOTEL?
WhyHotel (whyhotel.com) is a venture-capital backed, DC-based startup that operates "turn-key, pop-up hotels (youtube.com/watch?v=DObGpDvCqvA) " in newly built, vacant luxury apartments during their lease-up phase. Blurring the line between hospitality and home (usatoday.com/story/travel/hotels/2018/07/18/pop-up-hotels-whyhotel-new-altern…) , our model provides the value and space of a home-share with the consistency of a luxury hotel. Thanks to WhyHotel, real estate developers now have a new way to leverage vacant units during lease-up and you have a new way to travel. 
 
In addition, our new business arm, Hospitality Living (bizjournals.com/washington/news/2019/05/28/whyhotel-to-start-building-its-own…) , will deliver the first of its kind ground-up, flexible use buildings, targeted to launch in 2022. YOUR MISSION
To find and drive bookings (group or corporate rates) from local furnished housing and/or corporate customers at our metro D.C. WhyHotels while leading a team of two Senior Sales Manager and a Business Sales Strategist. To build a book of business of repeat corporate customers across your portfolio which currently includes one property in D.C., one in Baltimore, and three in Northern Virginia coming on the market in 2019.
 
YOUR LEGACY
To change corporate travelers perception of an alternative stay, by making WhyHotel (and the products it offers) the go-to, gold-standard accommodation of choice. To build an industry-leading corporate-traveler platform and book of business.
 
WHAT YOU GET TO DO
Over the first 4 weeks: 
1. Develop strong rapport with your two Senior Sales Managers and business sales strategist and begin to build an awesome culture for WhyHotel’s hospitality sales team.
2. Create a strategic plan to drive corporate business to our DC area hotels that is approved by our President and begin to execute it.
3. Review and evaluate existing approach for sales from the transient, corporate, and furnished housing markets. (markets.create)
4. Create KPIs to measure performance
 
By 4 months:
1. Drive $45,000 per month in new bookings and continue to adapt and refine strategic approach based on real time feedback
2. Manage and mentor your direct reports to ensure your sales team is an efficient and high performing team
 
By 6 months: 
1. Drive $75,000 per month in new bookings
 
By 9 months and ongoing: 
1. Drive $150,000 per month in new bookings
2. Ensure 90% of the business is repeat business
 
WHAT YOU'LL POSSESS TO BE SUCCESSFUL

2. You have 5-10 years of experience selling hospitality offerings with at least some years in a furnished housing or private/corporate setting.

- Start Date:  TBD
- Location:  You will be working directly out of our Washington, DC office, located on H Street NE.
- Salary + Perks:  Salary commensurate with experience - please be sure to tell us your salary expectations in our application.   We match up to 100% of every dollar you contribute to our 401(k) up to 4%, you’ll get equity shares in the company, we provide medical and dental insurance and we’ll reimburse you $75/monthly for your cell phone.
- Team Beats Individual:  We hold all team members responsible for bringing talent into our organization and guests to our hotels - after all, it’s the only way we’re going to grow.
- Manager:  We are in the process of hiring a new Chief Marketing Officer and Vice President of Operations and initially you will report to one of them.  Once we expand, you will report to our D.C Head of Sales.
