(SALARY TO COME AFTER SEED INVESTMENT Contact us at email@example.com for more details)
We are seeking a long-term technical lead and partner to come join WhoYou as both a software engineer to continue to improve and iterate on WhoYou's current state and also a technical creative and entrepreneur dedicated to growing with the team and the opportunity that awaits. The product itself has already been created and we are looking to transition its maintenance and growth from its contracted creation team to this CTO position.
WhoYou is the first ever pull-oriented connection application. All social media today is push-oriented, meaning users are pushing their content onto one another, from opinions to politics to humor and more. With WhoYou, users pull the information that they're interested in out from one another, creating positive, value-added interactions.
Here’s a quick example; you set your area for 10 miles and search for “AngelList”. You can include specificity to your search by adding “Let’s talk about…” Anyone else searching for “AngelList” within 10 miles will appear. You can then look at their profile and if you like what you see, you can send them a message. If they accept, you can start chatting!
The individual would be considered a cofounder of WhoYou and would receive an equity stake in the company.
Main responsibilities include:
- We are seeking someone who is technically capable, responsive, quick to adapt, thoughtful, and considerate, but also ready to push themselves to their limits to make WhoYou a success.
- Day to day activities include app maintenance to maintain growth and roadmapping the current product improvements planned with the CEO. B2C app development experience is preferred.
- As CTO, this individual will be expected to make WhoYou their primary time commitment and must be available to communicate with the CEO whenever necessary.
- The CTO must also have experience overseeing app development using agile methodologies and have extensive project management experience, tech roadmapping, and scaling mobile apps.
This individual will work hand in hand with the CEO to take WhoYou from its infancy to a communication changing juggernaut. If you think you are the perfect fit for this position, please give us a brief reason why in your application. Whether it's past experience, a new challenge, or personal curiosity, make us excited to speak with you!
Problem: Today, users of social media have no choice but to have their online experience dictated to them by other users & businesses as they push their opinions, politics, humor, ads, and more out to the world with little regard for the psychological effect that content and privacy-abusing advertising can have on people and society as a whole. It’s for these reasons that over half of all Americans agree that social media is a negative influence on the world. Businesses’ (especially SMBs) only way of knowing when and why people are interested in their products is reactively, once they have been exposed to their advertising. These companies are losing out on a completely untapped area of business-to-customer communication where, preemptively, companies are able to generate revenue from customers who have never interacted with their advertising in any way.
Solution: WhoYou allows users to have complete control over their social media experience because, for the user, YOU are the master of the content that you see, hear, and feel. You are able to pull out the information from other users that you’re interested in, freeing you from the incessant negativity that is now available. For businesses, user’s cynical insinuations caused by your advertising will disappear, as you will be able to communicate in a real, unobtrusive human manner with those people most interested in the products and services that you provide, in a completely preemptive manner. This is a completely new way to connect and it’s not just exciting because it’s different, it’s exciting because it’s better.
